Our client, a fast-growing fintech and payments company, is looking to hire an experienced Head, Operations to lead and scale its entire operations function. This is a senior leadership role for a strategic and hands-on operator who can build strong systems, drive operational efficiency, manage distributed teams, and ensure seamless execution across the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead the end-to-end operations of the POS/agent network, including deployment, activation, maintenance and retrieval of terminals. • Own merchant and agent onboarding, deployment and activation, ensuring signed accounts become fully operational within target timelines. • Oversee customer and merchant support, including SLAs, escalations, disputes, chargebacks and settlement-related queries. • Design and continuously improve SOPs, operational systems, dashboards and processes to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround times. • Work closely with Risk, Compliance and other teams to strengthen operational controls and ensure regulatory alignment. • Build, lead and develop high-performing operations teams while managing vendors, field partners and cross-functional stakeholders.

REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering or a related field; MBA is an added advantage. • 7–10 years of progressive experience in operations leadership, preferably within fintech, payments, agent banking or POS/merchant acquiring. • Proven experience building and scaling operational processes, teams and support functions with clear SLAs and performance targets. • Strong knowledge of Nigeria’s payments/POS ecosystem and the CBN regulatory environment. • Strong analytical, process design, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure. • Experience managing distributed field teams, vendors and cross-functional teams, with a strong focus on accountability, efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
