Job Summary: The ICU Nurse is responsible for providing specialized, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced medical interventions. The ICU Nurse works collaboratively with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care while ensuring patient safety and promoting positive clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and unstable patients. • Conduct thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor patients' conditions. • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans. • Administer prescribed medications, intravenous fluids, blood products, and treatments accurately and safely. • Operate and monitor life-support equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and defibrillators. • Recognize and promptly respond to changes in patients' conditions and medical emergencies. • Perform advanced nursing procedures in accordance with hospital protocols. • Monitor vital signs, neurological status, oxygen saturation, and hemodynamic parameters. • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, medications, and responses to treatment. • Maintain complete and up-to-date patient records in accordance with hospital policies. • Participate actively in multidisciplinary ward rounds and clinical discussions. • Communicate patients' progress and changes in condition promptly to the medical team.

Qualifications: • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) Practicing Licence. • Post-basic qualification or certification in Critical Care Nursing is an added advantage. • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is an added advantage. Experience • Minimum of 2–3 years of post-qualification nursing experience. • At least 1 year of ICU or Critical Care nursing experience is preferred.
