We are currently recruiting for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) for our client, a leading organization with diverse operations across lubricant manufacturing, additives/chemicals importation and distribution, and plastic manufacturing.

The ideal candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring operational excellence, efficiency, scalability and continuous improvement across the organization.

Responsibilities

- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
- ⁠Drive operational efficiency, productivity and cost optimization.
- ⁠Oversee end-to-end manufacturing and production operations.
- ⁠Ensure optimal plant performance, capacity utilization, downtime reduction and yield improvement.
- ⁠Manage procurement, inventory, warehousing and distribution.
- ⁠Oversee importation logistics for additives, chemicals and raw materials.
- ⁠Optimize supply chain networks and supplier management.
- ⁠Ensure quality assurance, HSE and regulatory compliance.
- ⁠Monitor operational KPIs and drive performance improvements.
- ⁠Oversee operational budgets and cost control.
- ⁠Lead and develop plant, supply chain, logistics and operations teams.
- ⁠Drive talent development, succession planning and workforce optimization.
- ⁠Collaborate with the CFO on budgeting, cost control and capital investments.

Requirements

- B.Sc./HND in Engineering, Industrial Sciences, Operations Management, Industrial Management or a related field.
- ⁠MBA or relevant Master’s degree is an added advantage.
- ⁠Minimum of 12–15 years of progressive technical and operations leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
- ⁠COREN certification.
- ⁠Strong manufacturing experience, preferably lubricants, chemicals or plastics.
- ⁠Proven experience managing multi-site or multi-business operations.
- ⁠Strong technical understanding of manufacturing environments.
- ⁠Experience in supply chain management, import/export logistics and warehouse operations.
- ⁠Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO standards.
- ⁠Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
- ⁠Strong project management capabilities.
- ⁠Excellent leadership, communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
