We are seeking an experienced and vision-driven Product Manager to own and expand our digital ecosystem across higher education technology and academic publishing. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for our suite of products bridging institutional learning solutions, research tools, peer-review platforms, and digital scholarly publishing pipelines. You will operate at the intersection of pedagogy, scholarly communications, and modern SaaS engineering. Collaborating closely with university leadership, faculty, researchers, journal editors, and software engineers, you will deliver scalable, high-impact products that streamline academic workflows and drive research accessibility.

Define and execute a multi-year product roadmap that aligns academic publishing operations and institutional educational technology with overall company growth goals. Conduct continuous market analysis across the global EdTech, higher education, and academic publishing landscapes to capitalize on emerging trends (Open Access mandates, Plan S, AI in academia, and remote learning). Translate complex institutional and editorial workflows (e.g., manuscript submissions, peer review, grading, curriculum management, and repository archiving) into intuitive digital experiences. Drive the complete product lifecycle—from user discovery and market validation through backlog grooming, sprint planning, delivery, and post-launch optimization. Partner with UI/UX designers, engineering leads, and data teams to write comprehensive user stories, define clear acceptance criteria, and prioritize feature developments. Establish and track core product success metrics, including user engagement, task completion efficiency, manuscript processing velocity, platform stability, and NPS. Ensure strict compliance with international data privacy laws (GDPR, FERPA), accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA), and scholarly metadata protocols. Work closely with internal Go-To-Market (GTM), Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to create product documentation, feature rollouts, and user training programs. Oversee key third-party integrations across both academic administration and publishing channels: Publishing & Research: Crossref, ORCID, Turnitin/iThenticate, PubMed, Web of Science, and JATS XML pipelines. Learning & Campus Systems: Major LMS platforms (Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard) and Student Information Systems (SIS).

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Educational Technology, Publishing, or a related field. 5+ years of dedicated digital product management experience, with **at least 3 years explicitly focused on EdTech, Higher Education, or Academic Publishing platforms Proven track record of shipping and scaling B2B SaaS products, enterprise campus software, or digital publishing platforms. Practical knowledge of Open Access publishing models (APC management, transformative agreements) and educational accessibility standards. Experience with agile tools and methodologies (Jira, Confluence, Figma, Productboard, Mixpanel/Google Analytics). Comfortable using quantitative data and qualitative user feedback to make high-stakes product decisions. Exceptional ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical academic stakeholders, executives, and engineers alike. Experience building or integrating AI-driven tools (e.g., automated reviewer matching, plagiarism/similarity detection, or smart content tagging). Background working with high-volume XML-based workflows (JATS/BITS) or digital repositories. Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Agile Product Manager certification.
