The HSE  Assistant Supervisor will support the implementation and monitoring of workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies within the manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will assist in ensuring that employees comply with safety procedures, machinery is operated safely, workplace hazards are identified and controlled, and the company meets applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements.

• Assist the Safety Supervisor in implementing and enforcing company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections to identify unsafe conditions, hazards, and unsafe work practices.
• Monitor employees' compliance with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure safe operation of manufacturing equipment and machinery in collaboration with relevant departments.
• Assist in conducting safety inductions, toolbox talks, and employee safety awareness training.
• Identify potential workplace risks and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Report workplace accidents, near misses, injuries, and unsafe incidents promptly.
• Participate in incident investigations and assist in preparing accident and safety reports.
• Monitor fire safety equipment, emergency exits, first aid supplies, and emergency preparedness procedures.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain safe working conditions across production areas, warehouses, and other company facilities.
• Assist in monitoring chemical handling, storage, waste disposal, and other environmental safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training attendance, incidents, and corrective actions.
• Follow up with department heads and employees to ensure identified safety issues are resolved.
• Support emergency drills and ensure employees understand emergency response procedures.
• Perform other safety-related duties assigned by the Safety Supervisor or management.

• Minimum of an OND, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in health and safety, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures, hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident reporting.
• Understanding of PPE requirements, fire prevention, emergency response, and machinery safety.
• Relevant HSE certifications will be an added advantage.
• Good communication, observation, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with production teams, supervisors, and other employees.
• Attention to detail and the ability to enforce safety rules firmly and professionally.
• Basic computer skills for preparing reports and maintaining safety documentation.
