We are seeking an experienced and technically competent Power & Utility Lead to oversee the planning, coordination, and effective operation of the company’s power and utility function.

The successful candidate will lead the Power & Utility team, ensure the availability and optimal performance of power and utility equipment, drive operational efficiency, manage maintenance activities, control operating costs, and ensure minimal downtime across the business.

- Plan and coordinate tasks and activities to achieve the unit’s operational objectives.
- Set clear goals and objectives for team members and monitor performance against agreed targets.
- Lead, supervise, and develop the Power & Utility team to maximize productivity and performance.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and provide support to team members to ensure timely delivery.
- Develop and implement systems, procedures, and practices that improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies and operating procedures.
- Monitor productivity, performance data, activity levels, and progress against targets.
- Prepare, review, and analyse operational reports to support decision-making.
- Ensure the team achieves agreed productivity and quality objectives.
- Identify and implement measures to optimize the performance and utilization of power and utility equipment.
- Ensure preventive, corrective, and other required maintenance activities are carried out promptly and effectively.
- Prepare and manage budgets while controlling operational expenses to promote cost efficiency.
- Respond promptly to equipment failures, power emergencies, and other operational challenges, providing effective problem-solving and leadership.
- Prepare monthly reports on power and utility expenses, including diesel consumption, unit cards, PHCN/electricity bills, and other related costs.
- Drive initiatives that ensure optimal power availability, minimize outages, and support uninterrupted business operations.

Technical & Functional Competencies

- Strong technical knowledge of power and utility equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Good computer literacy.
- Ability to plan, monitor, and manage workloads to achieve business targets.
- Strong project planning and on-time delivery capabilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.

Educational Qualification
Degree or HND in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.

Experience
- 5–8 years’ experience in an electrical engineering supervisory role.
- Proven experience leading and managing a team of engineers or technicians.
- Experience in a leadership position with strong technical knowledge of power and utility equipment.
