We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing commodities trading business with operations in Lagos. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in financial accounting, compliance, reporting, and operational finance, preferably within the trading, agriculture, or commodities sector.

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial records maintenance
• Handle banking activities, cash flow monitoring, and relationship management with financial institutions
• Support banking negotiations, including rates and transaction-related discussions
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations
• Maintain accurate accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes
• Analyze costs, expenses, and financial trends to support business decisions
• Work closely with operations, warehouse, and management teams to ensure effective financial controls
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting processes

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional qualification (ICAN/ACCA) is an added advantage
• 4+ years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong background in compliance and financial reporting
• Experience in trading, agriculture, commodities, logistics, or related industries preferred
• Good understanding of banking operations, budgeting, and cost management
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations and accounting practices
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
